Biographical sketch




Daniel Berehulak, Pulitzer Prize winner for Feature Photography in 2015 for his outstanding work in photography about Ebola in West Africa; delights us with his participation at the 2016 International Image Fest (FINI) as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of this university.

Berehulak obtained his B.A. in History from the University of New South Wales. Currently, he is an independent photojournalist and a regular contributor to The New York Times. He worked for the Getty Images News Service from 2002 to 2013, where he was relocated to London as a staff news photographer in 2005, covering the war in Iraq, the trial of Saddam Hussein and the aftereffects of the Chernobyl and in 2009, Berehulak moved to India; his work documented from Benazir Bhutto 's return to Pakistan and social and political instability to the effects of the continuing conflict between the Pakistani and Taliban armies (Daniel Berehulak: Bio, n.d.).

His work has been published in the best newspapers and journals in the world, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, The Times, The Independent, Time, Newsweek, among others. He was finalist of the Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography in 2010 for his works about Pakistan's floods.
