Abstract

In this paper, results of plant capacity analysis made toa dairy company are reported. This enterprise is one ofthe best-positioned companies in production anddistribution of milk products in México. The enterprisehas only one production plant and seven distributioncenters. Because of the enterprise does not cover theclient demand, the Planning Department planned to buymore equipment, in order to increase the productionrate. This analysis was performed to determine the plantcapacity, in order to know the quantity of additionalequipment that production plant will need. An annualincreasing rate was considered in the study, which wascalculated with data of two years ago. In this work, theMonte Carlo method was applied to carry out thesimulation of the production plant processes, andProModel software was used to implement thesimulation model.
