Abstract
The synthesis and molecular structure of (phenoxathiin-4,6-dithiolate)tellurium(II) is described. [Te{S(C6H3S)2O}] was synthesized from the reaction of 4,6-dimercaptophenoxatiin and TeCl4 in 36% yield. The crystal structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystal data: [Te{S(C6H3S)2O}], formula weight = 389.95, crystallized in monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/n with a = 7.7898(10) Å, b = 18.513(2) Å, c = 8.9898(11) Å, ? = 105.974(2), V = 1246.4(3) Å3 and Z = 4. The tetracyclic compound is non-planar with a di-coordinate TeII atom. The eight-membered central ring is in a boatchair conformation. The title compound displays weak intermolecular contacts TeS, SS and CH?S.
