He is a biologist, climatologist and Doctor in Ecology. His research lines are: adaptation and mitigation of climate change and ecology of ecosystems. He has over 70 publications including five books. He has trained three doctors in sciences, 9 masters in sciences and 12 biologists. He is the leader of the Academic Body of Ecology. He coordinated the Master’s degree in Biotic Resources and the undergraduate degree in biology. He has been an SNI, Conacyt and SEP evaluator, and has arbitrated several magazines. Currently, he is the associate editor of the magazine Botanical Science.
