Pavka Segura was born in Mexico City, city where he currently lives and works, in 1971. He studied photography in the School of Photography Nacho López and in the Center of Image (Mexico City). He was enrolled in the Program of Documentary Photography and Photojournalism (1998-1999) of the International Center of Photography (New York).
His work has been published in magazines and newspapers such as Private Magazine (Italy), Bergens Tidende Newspaper (Norway), Colors Magazine (Italy), and Spectrum Magazine-Scotland on Sunday (Scotland).
He has participated in different collective exhibitions in Mexico, Spain, New York, France, and China. His work has been acquired by the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts (Japan). He has been a beneficiary of the Support Program for Studies Abroad (1998-1999) and Young Creators (2001-2002 and 2006-2007), both from the National Fund for Culture and Arts (FONCA).
He was the coordinator of the department of education at the Center of Image (2002-2004). His training as a photographer has been documentary, however his interests always had something to do with disciplines that are intertwined with photography. In 2016, he received the support from the National System of Art Creators of FONCA do develop the project A Particular and Windy Day… Memoria y vestigios del imaginario moderno. He is a lecturer at the university “CENTRO Diseño Cine y Televisión”.
