Semblance

Karla Castañeda was born in Guadalajara, México; Is bachelor in Sciences of communications and has worked in several stop motion productions. Her debut as director was during 2007 with the recognized worldwide award-winning shortfilm “Jacinta”, years later she premiered her second stop motion short “The whaterwheel”, Now on Karla finishes the details of the postproduction of her third animated stop motion shortfilm “A Midnight Lullaby”

Recently she is involved as part of the art crew of the upcoming Guillermo´s del Toro PINOCHO feature film in preproduction during this 2020; while she works on that Karla Castañeda lso co-writes with del Toro his first stop motion animation feature animation produced by himself.

Karla also worked by the hand with Francesca Berlingieri as production designers of Luis Tellez “Inzomnia” stop motion Feature film in Postproduction.

While she works on her films and collaborations Karla is well knowed as promoter of the protection and care of global initiatives for the film industry, since 2018 she began to be part of the Free The Bid International platform for the promotion of women filmmakers in the world.
