He was born in Oaxaca de Juárez, Mexico in 1970. He studied photography at the Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez, Oaxaca, Mexico. He has participated in workshops with Ragu Rai,Mariana Yampolsky, Dallas Morning News, Estanislao Ortíz, Daniel Mendoza, Mary Ellen Mark, Graciela Iturbide, Cristina García Rodero, Charles Harbutt, Joan Lifftin, Byron Brauchly, Adriana Lestido, Alberto García Alix and Nicolas Combarro, Donna Ferrato, among others.
He has been the photographer of several media in Oaxaca such as the Diario Noticias, the Imparcial; newspapers like Tiempo, Síntesis de Oaxaca, Despertar; he has been the correspondent for the Mexican news agency NOTIMEX; he has collaborated with the Proceso magazine, the newspaper Milenio, among others. He has collaborated with the newspaper Síntesis in the city of Puebla, Mexico. He is currently a photographer for the newspaper El Universal. He was the photographer of the environmental organization Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) capturing images of the forest life in countries like Poland and Germany in 2006, and in 2011 in Malaysia. He won the Local Journalism Award in 2000. He won the Third Place in the Cuartoscuro Fiestas y festejos populares en México Aguascalientes in 2013. He won the First Place at the 4th Edition of the Photography Contest Jarritos Mezclando Tradiciones con la fotografía Sueño de Maíz Libro “Las Mujeres que no se fueron.” He has participated in several collective exhibitions and has three individual ones.
