Writer and director. He studied Filmmaking at the University Center of Cinematographic Studies of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (CUEC-UNAM). His first opera prima was the film “Alarma” in 1977.
Two years later he made the documentary film “Iztacalco, Campamento 2 de Octubre” (1979) which granted him an Ariel Award to the best Documentary Film in 1980. He has been nominated for that same award for several works like: “Café Tacuba” (1981), “El ombligo de la luna” (1986) and “Pruebas de amor” (1991). He was a professor at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM) in the BA of Communication, in the field of Cinema and Television.
