Dr. Eduardo ROLDÁN was a diplomat in the Mexican Foreign Service. From 2006 to 2012 he was ambassador of Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, and Tunisia. He is the former President of the Mexican Foreign Service Association (ASEM). Currently, he is an International Consultant, and a professor at the UNAM and the UAM. He is an associate member of the Mexican Council of Foreign Affairs and a member of the honor board of the Mexican Association of Foreign Affairs.
Dr. Roldán was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. He studied an undergraduate degree in Political Sciences and Public Administration at the UNAM; a Master’s degree in Political Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A.; a Ph.D. at the Columbia University; and a Ph.D. in Political and Social Sciences at the UNAM where he graduated with honors.
He has given lectures about International Relationships at important universities like the UNAM, UAM, UPN, UP, Universidad Anáhuac, Columbia University, Fordham University (U.S.A.), and the Universidad de las Américas-Puebla, Mexico, where he was the Director of the undergraduate program in International Relationships and the master’s in Studies about the United States of America. He was the Vice President of the UMAR and the UTM.
Dr. Roldán wrote more than 300 essays that were published in national and international newspapers and magazines. He is the co-author of 23 books.
He has been granted the Innova Recognition in 2002 and the National Price to Innovation and Quality of the Public Administration in the same year. In March 2015, he received the Medal Benito Juárez to “Citizen Merit”. In 2015, he was granted the Mexican Foreign Service Medal in recognition of 25 years as a diplomat; and in 2017, he was granted the National Price to Journalism for his academic research on geo-strategy.
