Diana Flores Blazquez was born in Mexico City in 1986. In 2012 she graduated from the B.A. in visual arts from the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Engraving “La Esmeralda” of the Nacional Center of Arts. That same year, she spent one semester at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Lyon in France. Then, in 2015, she graduated from the masters in illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, United States. In the year 2016, she lived in the city of Madrid as part of an art residency in ACART, Intercambiador. Currently, she lives and works mainly as a scientific illustrator in Mexico City with her human and animal flock.
Diana has been involved in different fields of artistic production but she specializes in drawing and digital illustration, animation, sculpture, and new means that allow her to combine these disciplines through the creation of books and bi and tridimensional interactive pieces.
Her work is about topics like biodiversity, taxonomy in biology, and nature and its conservation. She has published and received recognitions in several illustration catalogues such as the Creative Quarterly of Brooklyn and the Word Illustration Awards of London.
